I am in the process of buying a house and payed £510 for a homebuyers survey, however it seems like who ever has done this has been an absolute joke. On looking round the property myself with a builder even I have found serious issues with the house not identified by the surveyor. Major cracks in the roof void missed, no damp reported what so ever yet on hiring out a dampometer MAXIMUM reading have been found
